Former Exclaim! editor Matt Bobkin and current contributor Adam Feibel are releasing their book In Too Deep: When Canadian Punks Took Over the World — featuring interviews with Sum 41, Alexisonfire, Simple Plan, Gob, Billy Talent and Silverstein — on June 3, and the pair have just announced plans for a book launch party taking place shortly after.

Host Sam Sutherland will talk all things CanCon pop-punk with Bobkin and Feibel on June 13 at Toronto's Rivoli, where the book launch will morph into a live karaoke session courtesy of Good Enough Live Karaoke later in the evening. (I'm told that Bobkin has already claimed their stake on "Misery Business," and that a few 'roake lifers will be in attendance.) There will also be a book signing.

"This book might not exist without the Rivoli," Bobkin tells Exclaim! "Sum 41 and Billy Talent played there when they were just getting started, so we're stoked to launch this thing in one of Toronto's most important and supportive venues."

They continue, "Now more than ever, it's important to celebrate the amazing artists from your own neighbourhoods, and there's no better way to do that than by bastardizing their biggest songs in front of hundreds of people, including my 96-year-old grandmother. Do it for Bubby!"
