Canadian Folk Music Awards Returns to Calgary in 2026

A launch event for both the community and press will take place May 28 at the Festival Hall

The Canadian Folk Music Awards has announced that the 2026 awards will be taking place in Calgary.

The ceremony will host four dynamic award shows featuring Canada's top folk artists, an Albertan showcase for international export buyers, an expanded industry development events and a strategic partnership with local hotels, venues and community organizations.

Organizers have also announced a launch event for both the community and press in collaboration with the Calgary Folk Festival next Wednesday (May 28) at 11:30 a.m. at the Festival Hall. Key dates for nominations, nominee announcements and the full 2026 CFMA schedule will be revealed at the event.

The launch will also feature multiple speakers, recognitions for several notable Order of Folk honourees from Calgary, and a live performance from Alberta-based CFMA award recipient Scott Cook. You can RSVP for the event here.
