Calgary's Rena Kozak has performed in bands like Gold and the Shematomas and travelled the world as an audio engineer for bands like Preoccupations. Up next, she is set release the debut album from her solo project Child Actress.
Kozak has written and recorded eight compositions for the project, all of which make up her debut album Milking a Dead Cow. Though it's technically a solo project, she didn't work alone. Her late partner Chris Reimer (of Women and the Dodos) wrote much of the song "Fully Waterproof," and Preoccupations member Scott "Monty" Munro contributes drums to two tracks and backing vocals to another.
Milking a Dead Cow is set to arrive on cassette and digital download on May 19 via Wyatt Records.
