Cadence Weapon's Five-Year Plan, Kanye West's Today Show Escapade and Marnie Stern vs. Best Coast Lead This Week's News Roundup

After another week of tireless news gathering, we're back with our weekly news roundup. As always, it was a busy one out there this week, so let's get right down to it.

First off, get ready for a whole lot of Cadence Weapon. In an interview with Exclaim!, Edmonton's poet laureate laid out his future plans, which include everything from a Tron Legacy mixtape to a full-band studio LP to a club track about the Hudson's Bay Company and a performance with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.

And then there was Kanye West of course. Besides calling Coldplay bigger than the Beatles, the rapper didn't have the best of times on The Today Show, and Ye is not too pleased about how it all went down.

We also had a lot of Michael Jackson this week, including accusations from the Jackson estate that some posthumous tracks are fakes, as well as some second thoughts on that after some "forensic musicologists" were brought in to investigate. On top of all that, there was this strange Prince connection to MJ's upcoming album.

Then we had the Diableros calling it quits, the White Stripes announcing a massive holiday gift package, Pulp reuniting and Keith Richards allegedly attacking some Swedish journalist.

Last but not least, Marnie Stern and Best Coast/Wavves have earned themselves a position in our ongoing "Beefs 2010" segment. Yep, somewhere there's a line in the sand.
