Butthole Surfers' Gibby Haynes Announces 7-Inch for Third Man Records

Third Man Records has released music from a wildly eclectic array of artists, and here's a new name to add to that list: Butthole Surfers frontman Gibby Haynes. He will release a 7-inch through Jack White's record label on Valentine's Day (February 14).

This single for Third Man's Blue Series includes three tracks: two originals plus a cover of Adrenalin O.D.'s "Paul's Not Home." An announcement from the label calls this "three blasts of psychic energy in the punk rock idiom exploiting a range of subjects from, teenagers on fire, equine love affairs, and recession shotgun stories"

A limited edition version of the single will be pressed in a curious format that the label is called Flex-Ray. This is similar to a flexi-disc except that it will be pressed on an old medical x-ray. These Flex-Ray singles will be available only from Third Man's Rolling Record Store at this year's SXSW in Austin, TX.

For those who won't be at SXSW, the single will also be available on standard vinyl. Pre-order your copy here. Scroll past the tracklist to stream a 35-second sample of "Paul's Not Home."
