Built to Spill Announce North American Dates, Hit Up Victoria, Vancouver

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 28, 2012

Boise, ID indie rock outfit Built to Spill previously hinted that they might deliver a new LP sometime in 2013, but they haven't quite confirmed whether that will actually happen. The band have, however, guaranteed that they will play a few dates come February, including a couple of stops in Canada.

The group's quickie trip will have them travelling around the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. and have them landing in Canada for dates in Victoria and Vancouver. You can see the full details of the tour down below and get hoping that they might dole out some fresh cuts somewhere along the way.

It's been about a year since band leader Doug Martsch delivered some scant details on the impending Built to Spill album, which will be their first since 2009's There Is No Enemy. At the time, the songwriter noted the set could include tracks with the working titles "Living Zoo," "So," "Never Be the Same" and "Open," which he hinted may be less sprawling than some of the band's previous work.

"I'm trying to keep the songs short," he had said, "and there's a couple of pretty poppy songs. But they're all in different stages right now, and it's hard to tell what real direction they'll take."
