Broadcast's James Cargill Emerges with Debut Album from Children of Alice

Broadcast's James Cargill has had a hand in a number of different musical projects following the end of the beloved experimental baroque-pop project, including collaborative trio Children of Alice. The three-piece have now announced that their debut self-titled LP will arrive through Warp Records next month.

Children of Alice have been writing and recording music as part of the Folklore Tapes collective since 2013. The self-titled album will bring together their entire recorded output, marking the first time the four tracks have been available for wide release.

Along with Cargill, the trio features ex-Broadcast member Roj Stevens and Julian House (Ghost Box Records, the Focus Group). Warp explains that the group's name was chosen in tribute to late Broadcast vocalist Trish Keenan, who found the titular character from Alice in Wonderland an inspiration. Keenan passed away from pneumonia in 2011.

Children of Alice will arrive on February 24 through Warp, with pre-orders available now. Read through the record's tracklisting below.

Children of Alice:

1. The Harbinger of Spring
2. Rite of the Maypole - An Unruly Procession
3. Invocation of a Midsummer Reverie
4. The Liminal Space
