Brian Eno Reveals Details for New Warp Records Album

While at first it may have seemed hard to believe, Brian Eno has teamed up with seminal UK imprint Warp Records for his next release. As previously reported, the record features Eno working with guitarist Leo Abrahams and electronic composer/producer Jon Hopkins, and now Eno has revealed a pile of new release details.

For one, the album will be dubbed Small Craft on a Milk Sea and will be out on November 2 in North America and November 15 in the UK. That's the cover art up there above, and along with the usual CD and digital formats, the album will come as two fancied-up deluxe packages.

First, there is a limited edition box set featuring two CDs, two heavyweight twelve-inch vinyl records, a high-quality download and a lithographic print. The vinyl comes in a "full-colour, case-bound 12" cover," which is lined in "crimson stock with foil block." The CDs - the second of which contains four extra tracks that aren't on the regular album - also come packaged in a similar twelve-inch box. And the lithographic print features new Eno artwork, "printed on 352gsm Mohawk Superfine stock, presented in full-colour, case-bound 12" cover. Lined in crimson stock with tissue paper protection," according to Warp.

Then there is a collectors' edition box set, which has all the above, as well as "a one-off, entirely unique and customised 12" square silkscreen print by Brian Eno." Warp adds, "Each print will be be a unique combination of screen printed elements by Brian Eno and Nick Robertson. Printed on 330gsm Somerset Radiant White stock, signed and numbered in pencil by Brian Eno. There are no duplicates. The printing process will be fully documented." There will only be 250 copies of this edition worldwide and pre-orders start at 3 p.m. local UK time on Wednesday (August 25) at Warp's Bleep shop.

By the sounds of things, neither box set will come cheap, but if you want one, you'll likely want to get on that pre-ordering ASAP.
