The Breeders

"New Year XX" (video)

Late last year, we learned that alt-rock vets the Breeders would be spending their 2013 celebrating their landmark 1993 LP Last Splash with live dates and a deluxe reissue. The band have apparently been rehearsing for the event since the fall, and you can now see some studio footage of the reunited lineup.

Fittingly, the Breeders' first gift of 2013 is a quickie clip of them rehearsing Last Splash opener "New Year" in Kim Deal's basement. The run-through is somewhat subdued, though the tension mounts once they hit those familiar snare drum and slide guitar freak-outs.

You can check it out down below.

As previously reported, the Breeders will be delivering LSXX (aka Last Splash 20), sometime in April through 4AD. As for Deal, she also recently started up a limited edition solo singles series, with the first 7-inch vinyl entry ("Walking With a Killer" / "Dirty Hessians") available now through her website.
