Braids' Native Speaker Gets January Release Date

BY Josiah HughesPublished Oct 19, 2010

Last month, we reported that hotly tipped Calgary expats Braids had signed with Kanine Records. Now, we finally know the release date for the long-anticipated debut album from the Montreal-based experimental indie pop quartet.

According to a press release, the album is called Native Speaker and will be available on January 18. The PR goes on to explain that "the album's songs were tested and shaped through numerous performances and lyrical massages, resulting in work that is brilliant in detail and structure. Averaging over six minutes and never coming in under four, the tracks on Native Speaker maintain a deep-seeded focus."

The group will also be performing at CMJ this month, with a single Canadian date taking place in November in Laval, QC. All tour dates are below, as well as the tracklisting.
