Boys Life

"August 14, 2015" (teaser video)

After bringing Braid onto the roster a few years back, it looks like Topshelf Records have now acquired another key player in the mid-'90s Midwest emo scene. A new trailer suggests the label is working on something with Kansas City, MO crew Boys Life.

Down below, you'll find a brief trailer of a guy slapping a record needle onto an unidentified platter. The train whistle and musical ambiance, however, is quite clearly taken from the intro to the band's "Twenty Four of Twenty Five," which appeared on sophomore set Departures and Landfalls.

A due date of August 14 is given in the vid, but it's unclear exactly what we're getting. Is it a repress of the 1996 LP, which had originally been delivered through Headhunter/Cargo, or perhaps an anthology? Is it also possible that the band, which split in the late '90s, have now reformed?

Everything's murky at the moment, but the band's recently activated Facebook page notes: "Stay tuned, something wonderful is going to happen."
