Philadelphia's Bottom of the Hudson ended their tour on a sad note yesterday (Sunday, July 29) when their tire blew out and the van veered off the I-40 in North Carolina. According to Pitchfork, the van rolled over many times, throwing bassist Trevor Butler from the vehicle, killing him. Reports say Butler was the only one not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the van, William Chesterton, and new drummer Greg Lytle were both injured in the event; Lytle was flown into Chapel Hill to be treated and is currently in critical condition. The band were touring in support of their new album Fantastic Hawk, which was released on July 17 by Absolutely Kosher.
