Bonnie 'Prince' Billy Readies Live LP, New Single

Accomplished indie folk luminary Bonnie 'Prince' Billy has released a butt-load of albums in his various forms, so it only makes sense that he's already prepared a follow-up to his recent Beware record. This time, it's a live-in-the-studio LP that has a pretty interesting theme.

Titled Funtime Comedown, Billy has adopted the name Bonny Billy and the Picket Line for him and his band. According to a press release, the Picket Line are "the official dance band of Funtown, a metaphysical little community in the woods outside Louisville." (If it was any less weird it wouldn't be a Will Oldham record, right?)

The album sees the band "run through a set of BPB classics, some Palace songs and a few classic country covers." While there's no release date yet, the vinyl and digital download of the album are due by the end of the year from Drag City.

Besides the live record, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy is also preparing a seven-inch single for release on October 20. The record contains the songs "Stay" and "People Living," both of which were originally performed by Susanna and the Magical Orchestra's Susanna Wallumrød.
