Bon Iver

"666 ʇ" (lyric video)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Oct 2, 2016

Another day, another lyric video from Bon Iver's new album 22, A Million. Friday (September 30) brought us "715 - CR∑∑KS," yesterday (October 1) it was "29 #Strafford APTS," and now experimental folk auteur Justin Vernon has given "666 ʇ" a set of visuals.

The song is a solemn blend of choral soul, glitchy electronics, dramatic drum crescendos and purring soft rock. The simple accompanying visuals also feature some interesting contrasts: the gothic script and and ever-present "666" suggest devilishness, while the green font and shifting background colours (red, orange and pink) appear cheap and gaudy.

Watch the clip below, and be sure to read our rave review of 22, A Million.
