Blood On The Wall

Liferz

Comprised of siblings Courtney and Brad Shanks, alongside drummer Miggy Littleton, Brooklyn’s Blood On The Wall are often written off as some sort of readymade Pixies / Sonic Youth hybrid. Yet on Liferz, their third full-length, they prove their relevance once again. While the ‘90s indie rock influence is certainly present, the sonic harshness of opener "Hibernation” and the sludgy title track suggest a kinship with Iggy and the Stooges. Sure, tracks like "Junkeee…Julieee…” or "Go go go” reminisce of Frank Black and co., but they are all drenched in the muck of Blood on the Wall’s rawer, dirtier, heavier proto-punk. Relentless and highly addictive, Liferz is the perfect soundtrack for basement parties in these messy times.
