The Bloggers

'24 Hits' (album download)

BY Josiah HughesPublished Dec 2, 2011

Sorely missed Vancouver pop weirdoes the Bloggers arguably didn't get their due in their time as a band. Piecing together hundreds of songs by recording every practice, their staggering output was supposed to be celebrated with the release of a box set earlier this year. That didn't pan out, but 24 of the band's greatest hits have been compiled on a free album from Hockey Dad Records.

Posting the album on his Tumblr page, Hockey Dad head honcho Ryan Dyck dropped the following blurb on the release:

I'm bootlegging a collection of some of my favorite early Bloggers songs, all from before jam 75. I didn't ask the dudes for permission! Don't tell them! Essential and obnoxious Vancouver lo-fi/noise/indie/outsider jams. This is the first digital only Hockey Dad release, something I'll try to keep doing because that shit is FREEEEEEE. I still have a few copies of the Bloggers self titled CD available if anybody likes physical objects that play music anymore.

24 Hits can be downloaded here. That's Dyck's artwork for the project above.
