Bloc Party front-man Kele Okereke is no slouch when it comes to recording. In just five years, his band have recorded three studio albums, two remix albums, two EPs and a slew of non-album singles. Now, Okereke has announced that his solo album is due this June.

It was only last November that we reported that Okereke was working on a solo album, and it looks like the recording is finished. As Gigwise reports, the album, dubbed The Boxer, is due June 21. The album was recorded in New York and London and will be released under the singer's first name only.

Okereke stated: "the key for the sound of the record was to make things as harsh and as physical as I could make it," adding, "the reason for going there was that these are the sounds that make me the happiest in the world."

Gigwise states that the album was produced by XXXchange, although producer Hudson Mohawke remarked in November that he was involved in the project, along with Spank Rock, so their involvement remains to be seen. Either way, it looks like Okereke is continuing down the more electronic path taken by Bloc Party's latest recordings.

The album's first single will be "Tenderoni" and is due June 14.

The Boxer:

1. "Walk Tall"
2. "On The Lam"
3. "Tenderoni"
4. "The Other Side"
5. "Everything You Wanted"
6. "New Rules"
7. "Unholy Thoughts"
8. "Rise"
9. "All The Things I Could Never Say"
10. "Yesterday's Gone"
