Blink-182 and My Chemical Romance Hit Up Canada on Joint North American Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 24, 2011

Call it the clash of the pop punk titans, or just call it a summer tour, but Blink-182 and My Chemical Romance are hooking up for a series of joint dates, and they have plans to play across Canada. The mall punk heavyweights are joining forces for the Honda Civic 2011 tour, which sees them joining a number of other high-profile acts along the way.

The tour kicks off August 5 at Holmdel, NJ's PNC Bank Arts Center, but it's not long after that the groups hit Canada. Fans in Toronto and Montreal will be treated to an opening set from rockers Manchester Orchestra, while those of you on the other side of the Prairies need to prepare yourself for a one-two punch from Against Me! and the legendary Rancid.

Blink-182 still haven't properly announced their impending new album, but hopefully they will trot out some new juvenile, potty-mouthed pop tunes for the masses on the trip.

My Chemical Romance, however, are still touring in support of last year's Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.

UPDATE: And just to clear up any confusion, the Canadian dates are not part of the Honda tour.
