Last year, California psych-rock quintet the Black Angels released their strongest effort yet with Phosphene Dream, which saw them "embracing a tight, locked groove, no doubt the result of years of hard touring." By that logic, their next album will be even tighter, as they've announced another sprawling North American tour.
The two-month run kicks off in New Orleans on March 31 and continues through the United States for nine shows before a pair of Canadian stops in Montreal on April 12 and Toronto on April 14. Then it's back to the U.S. for a while before they hit up Vancouver on May 9.
For whatever reason, the Black Angels are apparently obsessed with the sun when it comes to their opening bands. The first half of the tour will feature support from Suuns while the second half will bring on Sleepy Sun. It's too bad Sunn 0))) couldn't make it.
