Billie Eilish Tells a Robot She Regrets Never Being Able to Work at Jamba Juice

The pop star spoke in-depth about fame in an interview with an AI

Fresh off her Oscar performance and recent sweep at the Grammys, Billie Eilish has resurfaced into the public sphere for a very special interview with a literal robot to talk about fame, "urban" music, and never being able to work at Jamba Juice or Trader Joe's.

Speaking with Vogue's newest AI journalist, Eilish went as in-depth as she could to answer the machine's wild questions (maintaining poise even after it refers to her as Billie Eyelash at the top of the interview).

"I feel like the things I'm missing out on are like — I always wanted to work at Jamba Juice," she said. "I don't know, that's just something I wanted to do. I wanted to work at Trader Joe's. Those were the jobs I saw myself having and enjoying."

She continued: "I always wanted to go get gas by myself. I always wanted to go get groceries for my mom."

When the AI asked if she would ever want to go back being anonymous, Eilish said no, explaining that she had once tried to go out in public in disguise — and had a bad time.

"I was like, 'Why don't I try to disguise myself?' So I put on a wig," she said. "I put on just a hoodie and a little bow on my head, and some jeans. And I went out. And I hated it. I hated it. I hated it. It's so fucked up! I just didn't like it. I was like, People aren't nice to me now. I think mainly, it's that I wouldn't wanna not be me. I think that's what it is. It's not like I wanna suddenly be somebody who isn't me, and be anonymous. I want to be who I am, and that means that I have to be this way, and live this life."

She added: "I hope that doesn't come off as cocky. I hope that it comes off as, like, grateful. I have an incredible life."

Later in the interview, the machine tried to make a Billie Eilish song of its own. That you'll just have to hear for yourself.
