Billie Eilish has been granted an extension to the temporary restraining order she filed against a 23-year-old stalker who had been camping outside her house and sending her death threats.
According to E! News, 23-year-old John Matthew Hearle was officially ordered to steer clear of the pop star for five years in a civil harassment restraining order mandated in court last Thursday (March 4).
In February, Eilish's representatives filed for the restraining order against Hearle, who stood accused of sending handwritten death threats to the singer, making a "throat-slitting gesture" at her and camping out at a school outside her house.
"I no longer feel safe going outside my home and enjoying basic physical exercise in my neighbourhood, as he could attempt to approach and hurt me. Every time I see him I just want to scream," Eilish wrote in initial court documents.
Hearle had allegedly sent notes containing disturbing drawings and threats to Eilish, with one reading: "You can't get what you want, unless what you want is to die for me. You will know that soon the water will rise, and you might very well die. You will die."
Last year, Eilish had to file another restraining order against a fan named Prenell Rousseau, who reportedly visited her house and attempted to gain entry on numerous occasions. That order was later extended by three years after Eilish's representatives requested a five-year extension, according to NBC affiliate WVIR.
