Upon first listen, Montreal's Bill Cosby Anarchist Society Of America are as strange and unfriendly as their name indicates. It might seem funny but try saying it to a few people; it gets weighty on the tongue. Still, as one spins this four-song independent EP a few times, the band's unusual, ham-fisted commingling of the Hives' twangy, sporadic, four-chord rock'n'roll with NOFX meets a less smarmy Brutal Knights is actually quite endearing. With music of this intensity and obtuseness — their live shows must be chaotic bouts of flying instrument debris — they're bound to catch on with the scenester crew for the whole kitsch value thing. Hopefully, if true rockers/punks keep an open mind, we could easily embrace In Your Fucking Living Room! and save these guys from the rollercoaster ride.
