Indie heavy-hitters Big Thief are back with not one, but two new songs: "Little Things" and "Sparrow."

On "Little Things," the band is perhaps at their most rhythmically insistent and dynamic-sounding yet, while the chorus-less acoustic threnody "Sparrow" recasts the creation myth, forming a sonic Garden-of-Eden canopy of their own divine design.

Recorded last fall in Topanga, CA, and last summer in the Catskills, respectively, both songs were produced by drummer James Krivchenia.

Their latest material marks the Brooklyn-founded outfit's first new release since their 2019 album Two Hands (with last year's "Love Is Mine" having been an outtake from the LP).

Ever-busy frontwoman Adrianne Lenker released two solo albums in 2020 — songs and instrumentals, the former landing on Exclaim!'s 50 Best Albums of 2020 list.

Big Thief will tour through the U.S. this September.
