Best Coast Announce 'Fade Away' Mini-Album

BY Josiah HughesPublished Sep 10, 2013

As promised, California pop rock duo Best Coast will release some new material this year. Now, we have the full details of what it will entail.

The seven-song release is called Fade Away. Though it was originally described as an EP, the new release has had its status bumped up to "mini-album."

We're not sure how that's different, but the record features "Fear of My Identity" and "Who Have I Become," which were previously featured on a Record Store Day 7-inch, as well as five new songs.

In a press release, frontwoman Bethany Cosentino offered the following statement:

Everything in this band has worked out so organically that sometimes it scares me that something bad is going to happen. I don't even understand why this is happening. I made some songs, I put them up on the internet, and here I am now. I feel like the luckiest person in the world. If I wasn't doing this, I don't know what I would be doing.

Fade Away will be available on October 22 via Jewel City, a new label formed by Cosentino in partnership with Kobalt. According to the press release, Best Coast plan to release a new full-length this spring.

Fade Away:

1. This Lonely Morning
2. I Wanna Know
3. Who Have I Become
4. Fear of My Identity
5. Fade Away
6. Baby I'm Crying
7. I Don't Know How
