Vancouver, BC five-piece Bend Sinister haven't slowed down since releasing their debut album, Stories of Brothers, Tales of Lovers, in 2008. Since then, the band have been touring endlessly, were nominated for a CBC Radio 3 Bucky Award and placed third in the PEAK Performance Project, winning the hefty sum of $50,000. Of course, the band are keeping that momentum going this year.

First of all, they just kicked off a large Canadian tour last night (March 2) in Kelowna, BC. Tonight, they'll play in Calgary, and they'll continue eastward before concluding the trek in Ontario on March 25. The band plan to stay in Toronto for a period of three months or so, and work on touring in the U.S. from there.

On top of that, Bend Sinister have just completed two weeks in the studio with acclaimed producer Howard Redekopp, who has worked with Tegan and Sara, You Say Party! We Say Die! and the New Pornographers. They managed to complete three songs, which will either appear on their upcoming second album or a stand-alone EP.
