Exclaim! New Faves alum Bells Larsen has announced the upcoming arrival of his EP If I Was, I Am, set to land on July 28 via Next Door Records.
The five-track project will feature a slightly different sound from the Montreal singer-songwriter's tender debut album Good Grief, with Larsen carrying notes in a newly baritone voice post-transition.
Larsen previews the EP and his new singing voice with the release of lead single "Ten Hands" and its accompanying music video.
"For a long time, I figured that I had to choose between being myself and being loved," he said. "This song is a testament to the fact that I can choose both."
The Larsen- and Em Grisdale-directed music video shares touching home video footage of the adjustment following his transition as well as the evolution of his relationship.
