Belle and Sebastian Share Album Art and Tracklisting for 'Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance'

Long-running Glaswegian indie pop institution Belle and Sebastian recently announced that they'd return with a new album called Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance. Today, the group have shared more information about the release, including its artwork and tracklist.

While we don't have any music from the group just yet, a press release says this is "perhaps the most inspired and wide-reaching album Belle and Sebastian have ever made," adding that the band have been listening to "vintage Detroit techno and Giorgio Moroder." As a result, there's "a dance-party element (and a disco song about Sylvia Plath)."

As previously reported, the album was recorded in Atlanta, GA, by Ben H. Allen III, who has previously worked with artists like Gnarls Barkley and Animal Collective. There was additional mixing completed by longtime collaborator Tony Doogan in Glasgow, and then it was mastered at Abbey Road Studios.

A tracklisting is available now, and indicates that the normal version of the LP will feature 12 songs. However, there are other editions of the album depending on what you buy. The iTunes version comes with the bonus track "Piggy in the Middle" and the pre-order bonus "A Politician's Silence," while the release will also be available in a limited edition four-LP box set that features bonus tracks, extended mixes and a poster.

The tracklisting for Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance is available below, while its very modern-day B&S album art is available above. The album will arrive on January 19 via Matador.
