Beefs 2014: Mastodon's Brent Hinds Accuses Dave Grohl of "Making Rock'n'Roll Safer"

BY Alex HudsonPublished May 12, 2014

Dave Grohl is one of rock music's most ubiquitous and widely beloved stars, but evidently Mastodon frontman Brent Hinds isn't much of a fan, since he recently posted a snide image of the Foo Fighters frontman on Instagram.

The picture shows Grohl smiling in the studio along with the caption "Making rock'n'roll safer with every red carpet all star jam." That's it above [via Consequence of Sound].

The "red carpet" jams in question presumably include to Grohl's recent star-studded collaborations for his 2013 documentary Sound City, when he worked with Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), Krist Novoselic (Nirvana) and more.

Similarly, Grohl recently celebrated Nirvana's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with yet another batch of big-name collaborators, as the surviving band members were fronted by Lorde, St. Vincent, Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon and Joan Jett.

He also appeared at the Grammys with aforementioned collaborators Reznor and Homme, plus Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham.

Speaking of Grohl's collaboration with Paul McCartney, maybe Hinds should, uh, cut him some slack. See below.
