Beck To Release An Album In "Very Near Future"

Beck is poised to release his tenth album proper, according to MTV News, which has reportedly spoken to "several individuals” close to the musician. While neither Beck’s publicist nor his label, Universal, has verified the story, MTV’s sources say the album will drop in the "very near future” and may come as soon as next month.

Giving weight to the story, in a February interview with Rolling Stone Beck did confirm he was working on a new album "with an unnamed producer,” which has since been revealed to be Danger Mouse. The funky Scientologist also said the yet-to-be-named record would be out sometime this year.

Along with Danger Mouse, MTV reports the new Beck album will feature collaborations with a host of other high-profile artists, naming Cat Power as one of them, and said that fans can expect an official announcement very shortly.

In the meantime, Beck is hitting up several summer festivals but sadly none in Canada.
