Beck

"I Just Started Hating Some People Today" (prod. by Jack White)

When Beck first announced that he would be releasing a new seven-inch through Jack White's Third Man Records, the label shared samples of the A-side "I Just Started Hating Some People Today" and its B-side, "Blue Randy," so we already knew that they would be country-tinged numbers. Now, the full version of the A-side has hit the web.

The five-minute "I Just Started Hating Some People Today" begins as a lyrically violent acoustic ditty with fiddle and pedal steel accents. Things suddenly go bonkers around the three-and-half-minute mark, as it explodes into a heavily distorted cowpunk jam before culminating in an easy listening outro with morbid spoken word snippets.

Listen to the bizarre Jack White-produced tune below, and order a copy of the vinyl directly from Third Man Records. It officially came out yesterday (May 29).
