Beastie Boy Mike D Has Released a Line of Designer "Grown Man" Bags

If you're a grown-ass man with stuff to lug around but are sick of relying on a childish backpack to get the job done, Mike D has just the solution for you. The Beastie Boys rapper has teamed up with Clare Vivier for a new apparel line that includes, amongst a number of other accessories, sophisticated adult man bags.

The collaborative collection, appropriately labeled Mike D. x Clare V. features items that the musician wanted and felt were missing from his wardrobe, and includes a wallet, passport holder, T-shirts, bandanas, sunglasses sleeves, laptop bag, and the pièce de résistance — a range of "grown man" bags that range from $75 to $625.

"Basically [creating this collection] was a very selfish exercise, if you want to get down to it," he told Billboard. "I was showing up at the studio all the time with no bag, being like, 'I don't want to have a backpack. I've had backpacks my whole life and I'm a grown man now. I should have something better.'"

He also hinted that there might be more on the way from the fashion partnership.

"I think another collection would be a great excuse to get more crazy with the colours," he said. "Maybe a little shock of neon in there? Like volt green for you people? I'm joking, but I definitely think expanding out from what we've done would make sense. I'm in need of a man apron. A very manly apron."
