As we already told you, Nashville fuzz rockers Be Your Own Pet threw in the towel last summer following the release of their pretty awesome second record, Get Awkward. Since then, BYOP front-woman Jemina Pearl has been hard at work on her debut solo record.
Of course, just because it's a solo record doesn't mean she's all alone. In fact, she's nabbed collaborations with big-deal dudes like TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek, Iggy Pop and Ecstatic Peace label-head Thurston Moore.
"I'll probably kill myself after I finish this record 'cause I don't know how to top it, 'cause it's gonna be so fucking good," says Pearl, adding the record is now officially done and mastered.
The album, which is said to be hitting stores sometime this fall, also features drumming from former BYOP drummer John Eatherly. Three tracks from the record, "Heartbeats," "Ecstatic Appeal" and "Nashville Shores," are now streaming on her MySpace page.
