Baby Labour

"Coke Party"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Sep 9, 2015

Guelph-based group Baby Labour don't deliver a sound that's easy to pin down, though a press release has attempted to describe it as "erratic jazz-infused math-noise rock." The brainchild of Dan Loughrin and Troy LaFontaine (now joined by Jake Cadieux), the three-piece weirdo rock unit are ready to unleash a brand new track called "Coke Party," and Exclaim! has got the exclusive premiere.

Jazz major Loughrin has used the project as a vehicle for experimentation since its inception, and that exploratory streak continues on the new track. Jazz rhythms blend with angular guitar work, taking the listener on an adventurous, unexpected and intricately layered sonic journey.

"Coke Party" comes from the band's forthcoming debut full-length Aruban Sandwich, which arrives on September 18. You can see Baby Labour's upcoming tour dates listed below, and hit play beyond those to give the new track a listen.
