Away Team

National Anthem

Next up for the Justus League — hoping to extend its current hit streak and keep their team at the plate — is DJ/emcee duo the Away Team, comprised of rhyme-sayer Sean Boog and DJ/Producer Khrysis, who’s quickly climbing the ranks in the JL camp. Boog keeps it live from the word get, treating each track as an open challenge, with a high-energy flow that amps up even laidback tracks. Meanwhile, Khrysis holds it down behind the boards, apparently taking notes from Little Brother beat man 9th Wonder and relaying on a steady stream of soul samples to provide the basis for his snappy sound creations. The two forces complement each other and combine to make some pretty solid music that should satisfy both beat lovers and lyricists alike. Justus League ambassadors Big Pooh, Chaundon and Joe Scudda lend their support on "On The Line,” a track fairly representative of the record as a whole, with a cut-up vocal snippet forming the foundation for the life-in-focus lyrics of the four emcees. Add to this a surprising and satisfying appearance by Smif-N-Wesson on "Come On Down,” and what we’ve got here is yet another run scored for the League of Justus.
