Always eager to think outside the box, Thom Yorke's band Atoms for Peace have announced that they'll share high-quality audio and video with fans from their upcoming tour. Each stream will be available live while the shows are taking place.
The band will be using a new program called Soundhalo, which offers high-quality audio and video to both mobile and desktop devices.
"Part of the reason Soundhalo was interesting to me was that I found myself wondering why, whenever you go to a gig, the next day there are a million shaky, horrible sounding YouTube videos already online," band member Nigel Godrich said in a press release. "But you go and look because you want to see something of your experience.
"Soundhalo provides something really functional — an experience that you want to remember in front of you as soon as the concert has happened. To be able to relive that is a really great thing."
Check out a sample clip below. It definitely looks better than the blurry iPhone footage that's become the norm on YouTube.
