Atlas Sound and Broadcast Team Up for Co-Headlining Tour, Play Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver

While tour announcements are pretty commonplace in these here news pages, rarely do they get us as excited as this one. Word has just come that in mid-October Bradford Cox's non-Deerhunter outfit Atlas Sound will pair up with long-running British pop experimentalists Broadcast for a month-long jaunt across Canada and the U.S.

On the co-headlining tour, the bands will play Montreal on October 23, Toronto on October 24 and Vancouver on October 30, just in time for Cox's favourite time of year: Halloween. Apparently, Broadcast's set will involve a "stripped down" evening of the group's tunes, new and old, by the band's Trish Keenan and James Cargill, while Atlas Sound will feature Cox and presumably a cast of thrown-together backing players.

As previously reported, Atlas Sound have their Logos album heading our way October 20 via Kranky, and Broadcast will have a new EP due out October 13 on Warp. That Broadcast release doesn't have a title yet, but via a web post, Keenan ensures us it will be full of "seancing songs and witch cult rumbles."
