Ariel Pink Forms Raw Deal Production Duo with Justin Raisen, Preps Lyric/Art Book

We're still waiting for Ariel Pink's upcoming score for werewolf flick Bad Vibes, but we can now hear some other new music from Pink, though with the musician on the other side of the mixing board as part of new production duo Raw Deal.

The studio twosome comprises Pink and producer Justin Raisen, who has already worked together on pop singer Sky Ferreira and Pink's collaborative track "My Molly," as well as Charli XCX. Though details are slim, Pitchfork reports that Raw Deal are already working with California post-punk duo the Garden, which consists of twin brothers Wyatt and Fletcher Shears.

It's unclear what kind of a release is being produced, but you'll find raw and ominous streams of the Garden's Raw Deal-assisted tracks "Crystal Clear" and "Slice Em" down below.

In other Ariel Pink news, the prolific songwriter is currently prepping a book of lyrics and artwork titled Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti: Selected Lyrics. A street date has yet to be unveiled, but the collection will be issued through NIEVES and feature a series of collages and artwork from Pink's early days, as well as lyrics to 37 songs. These apparently traverse anything to "tragic dramas of domestic pain" to "more brashly and viscerally imagined" pieces.

The book was compiled by Pink and Anthony Atlas, and you can see the cover art up above.
