As previously reported and documented, Montreal indie superstars Arcade Fire recently took a trip to Haiti where they performed their own material, as well as some covers, for the Haitian people. The material was rumoured to be planned for a DVD, but that proved untrue. Instead, it has resulted in a blog from Arcade Fire multi-instrumentalist Will Butler.
NME points to the Haiti-themed Tumblr, which was launched on April 8. Since then, Butler has written a total of six thoughtful posts about his time in Haiti, covering everything from the tent cities and impromptu camps to his emotional reaction to time spent in Port-au-Prince. The full blog can be viewed here.
Raising money through their 2010 and 2011 tours, Arcade Fire have reportedly collected over $1 million to support the relief efforts in Haiti.
