A$AP Ferg Signs Solo Deal with Polo Grounds/RCA

With A$AP Rocky set to finally release his LongLiveA$AP album next week, there's no question that he's arrived as a bankable solo artist. And while he's tried to bring up his friends as a group with the A$AP Mob, another breakout star has emerged in A$AP Ferg, who has signed a solo record deal.

Ferg will join the ranks at Polo Grounds Music/RCA, the same label that Rocky is signed to. Ferg's first release for the label will be a proper release of his single "Work," which will hit iTunes on January 22.

In a statement, Rocky congratulated his peer, saying, "I'm just proud right now because this is everything we wished and hoped for. A$AP Ferg worked hard for this and I put all my faith and backing into him. I feel like 'Work' is our generation's 'Sippin On Some Syrup' [by Three 6 Mafia and UGK] or 'Chickenhead' [by Project Pat, La Chatand Three 6 Mafia], it has that feeling."
