Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman Give Their 'An Evening With' Live Album a Wide Release, Unveil Deluxe Pre-Order Packages

BY Alex HudsonPublished Oct 2, 2013

Kickstarter champ Amanda Palmer and her husband, author Neil Gaiman, have frequently collaborated on music projects, and they are documenting a joint tour with a live album. The four-disc An Evening With Neil Gaiman & Amanda Palmer will be out on November 19.

The album was previously released exclusively through an extremely successful Kickstarter campaign, which far exceeded its $20,000 goal by raising $133,341. This marks the first time An Evening With has been made available to the general public.

One of the three CDs features collaborations between Palmer and Gaiman, while another disc is all Palmer, and the other entirely features readings from Gaiman. Palmer's disc includes several songs that have never appeared on another release.

Palmer said in a statement, "These shows were very different beasts from the loud, crazed rock shows that I'm accustomed to... and also very different from the relatively well-behaved readings to which Neil is accustomed. Neil and I are both very close with our fan-bases, and, even though there's quite a bit of crossover, the 2011 tour was a like one big, long reception in which our two fan-families got to meet each other. We kept the venues cozy and seated, and made the nights feel like an after-hours salon more than a formal show. As Neil and I get closer to our fan-bases online through blogging and tweeting, it was nice to spend some actual quality offline face time with everybody. It provided some serious soul-food all around."

The tracklist, as it's presented on Palmer's official forum, is below, although note that the discs seem to be out of order, since the introduction in on the second CD. There's also a disc of bonus content called A Prelude to An Evening With Neil Gaiman & Amanda Palmer.

A wide range of pre-order options are available at Palmer's website. Various bundles come with items like a teapot, journal, tea towel and mugs.
