Illinois metal outfit Altered Perceptions are aiming to push the boundaries of modern metal with musicianship that is both technical and explosive on their forthcoming LP, From Rise to Ruins. Before the record arrives later this fall, the band have given listeners a taste of how they'll go about doing so with a lyric video for album cut "Ruin."
Featuring Chelsea Grin vocalist Alex Koehler, the song vividly depicts humanity's last moments on earth before everyone is wiped out. Within the song's bleak lyrics, set against images of abandoned streets and machinery that has sapped Earth of its resources, the human race is painted as parasitic, set to suffer the consequences of their materialistic greed.
