Montreal indie rock unit Alexei Martov have been counting down the days to the release of their brand new video for "Neural Awakening." Well, that day is finally here, and Exclaim! has got your exclusive first look at the new clip.
The track was recorded with Steve Albini and delivers the psychedelic, riff-based rock'n'roll that they pride themselves on. It originally appeared on the band's self-titled debut LP, which came out last fall.
The visuals pick up on the song's more ominous elements, showing off the band's vision of Montreal's dystopian future. It's not all doom and gloom, though, as the climactic, potentially world-ending showdown takes place between an army of humans and an army humans dressed as penguins.
The penguin people are sidelined by society, but eventually rise up in solidarity and take on their evil human overlords. Watch them come together and fight for the justice of flightless birds everywhere in the video for "Neural Awakening."
