Featuring one track each from these skilled purveyors of noisy, experimental rock music, both An Albatross and XBXRX offer something unique and bizarre on this beautiful clear red seven-inch. XBXRX’s contribution is slightly more abstract, culminating in a clutter of noise and sound that the band no doubt delight in re-creating live; after all, they’ve been banned in at least four venues in Mobile, Alabama, and were reportedly deported from Canada following a 2001 tour stop. An Albatross possess a sound that implies a band creating music in their own sonic universe; equal parts unknown experimentalism as structured rock’n’roll.
