Active Child

"1999"

Despite the project name, Active Child (a.k.a. musician Pat Grossi) hasn't exactly been on our radar for a while. Good news for fans, though: the harp-plucking electro-acoustic artist has unveiled plans to issue a new LP and is teasing the set with subtle single called "1999."

The track takes an especially softened approach to bedroom-ready R&B, with Grossi's feathery falsetto resting above a cotton candy cloud of piano plunks, gentle beats and the occasional ping of a harp. You'll find elastic, lightly lilting vocal runs and the rest of the ethereal tones down below, courtesy of Fader.

Details have yet to be revealed in full but Vagrant Records will reportedly issue Mercy this June. It will mark Active Child's first LP since 2011's You Are All I See.
