Guitarist Christoph Hochheim used to play with the Pains of Being Pure at Heart, and even though he now makes music as Ablebody, he's evidently still on good terms with his former bandmates, since he will be opening up for the Pains on tour this spring. Meanwhile, he is issuing his new single "After Hours" on 7-inch on May 20.
"After Hours" is available to stream below. It's a shimmering, new wave-flavoured jangle-pop number with watery guitar strums that propel it from soft-sung verses to urgent chorus repetitions.
It was recorded at Valley High Studios in Los Angeles, with Hochheim self-producing along with Gagan Palrecha. The 7-inch can be pre-ordered here; it comes with the song "Lose Your Head" on the flip.
