Abe Vigoda's Michael Vidal Announces Album for Couple Skate

BY Josiah HughesPublished Apr 29, 2015

Legendary 94-year-old actor Abe Vigoda managed to outlive Los Angeles post-punk band Abe Vigoda, whose members are now busy with other projects. Guitarist Michael Vidal, for example, has gone solo, and will soon reissue his debut album via Couple Skate Records.

The album is called Dream Center and was originally released as a cassette in 2013 via Big Joy. Now Couple Skate (whose name you may recognize, as they previously released Weed's excellent Deserve album) will give it a wider launch.

A press release describes the album's songs as "a wonderful and diverse spectrum of looping, beautiful guitar pop" that offers "crystalline instrumental pieces." It's also said to recall the music of Prefab Sprout, Durutti Column and Felt.

Dream Center will arrive on June 9, and can be pre-ordered here. The album's "Dreams (Come Back to Me)" can be streamed below.

Dream Center:

1. Dreams (Come Back To Me)
2. Correctional
3. Burn
4. Mono No Aware
5. Appraisal
6. Sky Blue
7. (Your Song)
