AA Wallace Makes Solo Debut with '(disambiguation)'

BY Alex HudsonPublished Apr 10, 2013

Halifax's AA Wallace previously fronted the indie rock band Sleepless Nights, but for the past three years, he's been making a name for himself in the world of electronic music. This spring, he will finally release his debut full-length with (disambiguation). It's due out on May 7 through Acadian Embassy, and its release will be followed by shows at home and abroad.

The eight-track collection was recorded on a laptop in a bedroom that, ironically, lacked a bed. He reportedly used everything from broken toys to found sound samples, and a press release explains, "The result is a dance inducing nu-disco album about alienation and failure that takes its cues from French house, chillwave and DIY electro."

The philosophical, choppy electro-pop tune "Temporal Suspension" is streaming at the bottom of this page.

See the tracklist below, and scroll past that to check out Wallace's tour schedule, which includes a pair of shows in Atlantic Canada followed by festival gigs in the UK. The album cover is above.
