A$AP Rocky Returns to Sweden, Performs in a Cage

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Dec 12, 2019

A$AP Rocky was detained in a Swedish prison for three weeks this summer, after being arrested for assault. The rapper returned to the Scandinavian country for his first show there since the imprisonment yesterday (December 11), and he most definitely made reference of his time behind bars.

Rocky performed in Stockholm at the Ericsson Globe Arena, and when took to the stage, he performed only from within a cage-like structure resembling a prison cell.

The rapper had requested to perform in an actual Swedish detention centre for his return, but officials denied the idea.

He did, however, pledge to donate proceeds from last night's show to FARR (Swedish Network of Refugee Support Groups). He also invited anyone from Stockholm's "immigrant community" to attend the show for free.

See footage from Rocky's caged-in performance below.

As previously reported, Rocky was arrested, charged and detained in a Swedish prison for three weeks in July over an alleged assault that took place on June 30. He was found guilty and given a suspended sentence, but did not have to spend further time in prison.

Two of the rapper's associates, Bladimir Emilio Corniel and David Tyrone Rispers, were also found guilty.
