33 1/3 Announces Short List
After a bit of a delay, Continuum's 33 1/3 series has whittled its long list down to a short one, and announced the 27 proposal finalists for future in-depth album analysis.

As expected, much heated debate has begun over the shortlist, which was posted on the series' blog late last week and cut down from an original 597 proposals. Many online commenters are calling the shortlist "bland," "a bummer" and "a list completely tailored to books that will sell," while others are downright stoked on the choices, which include such selections as David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust, Paul Simon's Graceland, Radiohead's Kid A, Slint's Spiderlandand Colossal Youth by Young Marble Giants.

If you want to throw in your two cents, you can join the fray over here or check out that long list over here to do a little long and short comparison.
