The Smiths' 'Meat Is Murder' Transformed into PETA Videogame
Giving grave new meaning to "gotta catch 'em all," famed animal rights activist/singer Morrissey and PETA have teamed up to deliver a new videogame where the goal is to save animals from hitting a slaughterhouse's blade.

Inspired by the Smiths' anti-animal cruelty anthem "Meat Is Murder," the old-style 8-bit game is called This Beautiful Creature Must Die, named after a lyric from the song. The game is also scored by a chiptune version of the track.

Produced between PETA and This Is Pop, and sanctioned by the Mozzer himself, This Beautiful Creature Must Die tasks you with saving various chickens, cows, pigs, and turkeys as they scroll towards circular saws. If you click on them in time, they fly off-screen propelled by a rainbow. If you don't, they meet a fate that's neither "comforting, cheery, or kind."

"This game is the biggest social crusade of all, as we safeguard the weak and helpless from violent human aggression," Morrissey said in a statement, adding, "You don't get that from Pokémon Go."

You can try out the game below, where you'll also find a PETA video scored by "Meat Is Murder."
